Taylor Joy stated that moving from Buenos Aires, to Victoria was difficult and she didn't take the time to learn English, hoping to go back to Argentina. Hill House had to be her new school following the moved from Northlands. Later, she enrolled in Queen's Gate School where she studied ballet and acted in school plays. After 16 she decided to leave school to focus fully on acting. Taylor-Joy's dream to be a professional actress began at a very young age.
