Aspen Ladd first began training in combat sports at the age of 14 years old. After training in kickboxing boxing wrestling BJJ and BJJ she made her amateur debut against Jaimee Nievera at WCFC when she was just 18. Ladd felt more confident following her win, and she won three bouts in Ultimate Reno Combat. Her adversaries were defeated all during the first round. Aspen went back to WCFC and defeated Leslie Rodriguez through a unanimous verdict. Aspen won against Silvia Babaeghian, Maddy Simmons and Cynthia Calvillo prior to facing Cynthia Calvillo in WCFC 9 Cynthia was able to hand Aspen an unanimity loss and outclassed her to tarnish Ladd's amateur career. Ladd defeated Roma Pawelek on Tuff n Uff, and increased her amateur record from 8-1 to 8-1. Aspen was a pro-fighter for the first time in 2015 after signing to Invicta FC.
